Helen’s role at Offbeat centres around one of the most important parts of marketing, telling stories clearly and consistently.
With a background spanning sales, marketing and communications, Helen brings a practical understanding of how organisations communicate both internally and externally. Her career has taken her through a variety of roles within the property and professional services sectors, including time with GVA (now Avison Young), where she developed her experience in marketing and internal communications within a large consultancy environment.
That experience helped shape her understanding of how complex organisations operate and how important clear communication is, both inside a business and in the way it presents itself externally.
At the heart of Helen’s work is writing. She enjoys taking an idea and helping it become something clear, engaging and easy to understand. Whether shaping messaging, drafting articles or developing social content, she focuses on translating strategic thinking into practical communications.
Helen particularly enjoys seeing an idea develop from its earliest concept into a finished piece of work that organisations can confidently share with their audiences.
Helen describes herself as a natural self-starter. Rather than waiting for direction, her instinct is to explore a problem, test ideas and work towards a solution. That mindset fits naturally with Offbeat’s collaborative and flexible approach to projects.
Helen joined the Offbeat team through the Mums in Marketing community, where Donna was looking for additional support across content and communications. Since then she has become an important part of the wider team, helping shape and deliver content across a range of projects.
Outside of work, Helen enjoys the quieter pace of home life, often with her dog keeping a watchful eye on the world outside the window.
