Public Relations

Telsha’s role at Offbeat is to ensure what gets said publicly is clear, relevant and stands up to scrutiny.

Working across PR and communications, she focuses on shaping messaging that reflects the reality of a business – not just what it wants to say, but what people actually need to understand. Whether responding to something in the moment or planning ahead, her role is to make sure communication is considered, accurate and doesn’t create problems further down the line.

Understanding what matters

PR is as much about judgement as it is about messaging.

Telsha naturally looks at communication from the outside in – thinking about how something will land, what’s actually relevant, and where there’s a risk of it being misunderstood. It’s less about pushing messages out, and more about making sure they make sense to the people receiving them.

She works closely with media contacts and understands how different outlets operate. Being responsive, reliable and clear is a big part of that – making sure journalists have what they need, when they need it, without overcomplicating things.

Thinking ahead

A big part of Telsha’s role is thinking a few steps ahead.

She’s quick to spot where something might create unnecessary risk, or where a message needs tightening before it’s shared more widely. Often it’s about asking the question early, rather than dealing with the fallout later.

She enjoys the challenge of reframing narratives – taking something that might feel unclear or negative and finding a more balanced, constructive way to communicate it.

Working style

She prefers to get to the point, understand what’s needed, and deliver it properly – without unnecessary noise. That approach allows her to stay focused, particularly when things are moving quickly or when multiple clients are in play.

Her work spans the built environment, which brings a mix of topics and perspectives – from security and technology to facilities management and property. It keeps things varied, and no two weeks are ever quite the same.

Working with Offbeat

At Offbeat, Telsha works closely with the wider team to make sure PR isn’t treated as a separate activity, but part of a bigger picture.

She supports both planned campaigns and more reactive situations, working alongside strategy, content and digital to ensure everything lines up. It’s about making sure what’s being said externally reflects what’s actually happening internally – and that nothing feels disconnected.

Outside of work

Outside of work, Telsha values having time to switch off.

PR can be fast-paced and reactive, so having space away from it helps her reset and keep perspective. It’s a way of keeping things balanced, particularly when work can be quite full-on.
